NDS Surgical Imaging wins Best of Show, Second Place honors at 2014 ESP Awards

San Jose, CA, December 22, 2014 — NDS Surgical Imaging (NDSsi) has been awarded “Best of Show, Second Place” overall honors at the 2014 Excellence in Surgical Products Awards, recognizing the technology innovation of its ExpandOR™ HD video/audio streaming device.

Sponsored by Surgical Products Magazine, the ESP Awards competition attracts hundreds of entrants annually. The winners are chosen by Surgical Products Magazine readers. ESP Award winners are featured in the November/December issue of Surgical Products, as well as the magazine website.

This year there are a total of 36 ESP Award winners, consisting of three “Best of Show,” 26 category winners, and six honorable mentions. “We are honored to be recognized by the readership of Surgical Products Magazine,” said Karim Khadr, President & General Manager of NDSsi. “We are constantly striving to develop products that can help streamline efficiency for OR staff, both in the procedure room and throughout the hospital enterprise.”

ExpandOR is the first multi-node, bi-directional HD video/audio streaming device designed for the healthcare environment. Enabling secure streaming to multiple destinations simultaneously, ExpandOR helps increase clinical staff efficiency via enhanced hospital-wide communication with the operating room, as well as external targeted locations such as educational facilities.

Streaming HD-quality imaging to specific IP addresses chosen by the user, ExpandOR allows easy capture of clinical video and still images, as well as data storage via a USB connection. The product’s compact, small-footprint design enables easy placement, saves space, and helps further increase OR efficiency.
